In a match that could have gone one way or the other until the last minute, the Dunkirk players thought they were making their task easier by opening the score after returning from the locker room, with a goal from midfielder Enzo Bardeli (56th).
But the Guingampais (6th with 26 points) reacted a few moments later, trapping Dunkirk on a counter well concluded by Rayan Ghrieb (59th) for his second goal in Ligue 2 this season. They even thought about taking the advantage, before being denied a goal for an offside position (77th). Guingamp missed the opportunity to secure its first victory of 2025. Sylvain Ripoll, Guingamp coach, underlined “the need to be at their best to compete with the podium teams”.
This draw (1-1) puts the Northerners in second place, behind leader Lorient. The Lorientais (33 points), who travel to Laval this evening at 8 p.m., will have the possibility of widening the gap on the Dunkirk (32 points) and Paris FC (31 points) in the event of success among the Tangos, seventh in the classification.
Metz (4th) also had the possibility of getting on the podium by hosting Pau (8th) on Saturday, but never found the opportunity to open the scoring, remaining in a goalless draw (0-0). The Messins (30 points) however put pressure on the PFC by closing one step behind the former leaders of Ligue 2.
