Pep Guardiola has said that he is entirely responsible for Manchester City’s current performances this season.
Manchester City are struggling to return to their form from last season and the team is currently in a poor position.
The Citizens have won only 2 of their last 14 matches and have lost 9 times in all competitions this season.
This season, they occupy 6th place in the standings, 14 points behind leader Liverpool.
Pep Guardiola took responsibility
Guardiola has expressed his pain at Man City’s poor results this season and admitted it was all his fault.
According to the Daily Mail, the coach said: “I’m incredibly honest with myself about why we got here, and that’s me.
It’s not the players. I’m the one who’s responsible. By the way, this is not to say: ‘Oh, how nice Pep is’, it’s the truth”.
“I led this group of players and failed to lift them. This is reality. There’s something I’m missing, something I’m not doing well.
When you lose a lot of games, the manager has an incredible responsibility to make the team feel what it needs to gain confidence. And I wasn’t able to do it”, added Pep Guardiola.
Elsewhere, Bernardo Silva has given up on Man City winning the championship this season, saying “it’s impossible”.
