A house without more, but one whose reputation is worldwide. It is in this large residence in Albuquerque, in the American state of New Mexico, that Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), the two main characters of “Breaking Bad” had installed their legendary methamphetamine laboratory. Although the unanimously acclaimed series bowed out in 2013, it continues to live on through this iconic location.
Fans still flock today to see the residence of approximately 176 m2, with four bedrooms and a bathroom. Up to 300 cars can stop there every day, according to the owners, the Quintana family. An attraction which makes them think that they can resell it at a high price.
The global luxury real estate agency responsible for selling it valued it at just under $4 million, reports the Associated Press, while its value without its fame is around $340,000. According to the American News Agency, the median price in the Albuquerque area is approaching $400,000 and interest rates are expected to hover around 6% this year.
Joanne Quintana’s late parents bought the house where she grew up with her siblings in the 1970s, she told KOB-TV. His mother was contacted in 2006 to have her home serve as a filming location for the pilot episode, and then be used for the series.
As “Breaking Bad” grew in popularity, it became increasingly difficult to protect the now iconic location. The family was forced to install a metal fence and security cameras to keep fans away. “It has been our family home since 1973, almost 52 years,” Joanne Quintana told the American media. So we will leave with only our memories. It’s time to move on. It’s over for us. There is no longer any reason to fight. »
The property, billed as “a chance to own a piece of pop culture history,” could be transformed into a vacation rental or museum, suggests David Christensen of eXp Luxury, who hopes to sell it for $4 million.
