As has often been the case for years, Shams Charania seems to be right. Jimmy Butler, after the Heat’s new defeat this Thursday evening, more or less confirmed his desire to leave Florida. But should Spurs take their chances?
While the deadline will take place in a good month, it looks like the NBA must prepare for a major trade to the Heat. While Pat Riley confirmed his intention to keep Jimmy Butler, or his agent denied the information from Shams Charania, the insider was once again right: Butler seems ready to turn the page to get back to having fun.
Should the Spurs take a chance on Jimmy Butler?
We know that because the player simply announced it at a press conference this Thursday evening, after a defeat by the Heat, 128-115 against the Pacers. Miami is clearly at a turning point and we have to believe that Jimmy Buckets doesn’t want to be there in the future. This is what he explains to journalists about his future.
Jimmy Butler : “I want to find pleasure in playing basketball. Wherever it may be, we’ll find out soon. I’m happy here off the floor, but I want to be dominant again, I want to play and I want to help this team win. But currently this is not the case. »
And when we ask him if he can rediscover this pleasure with the Heat, the answer is clear:
Butler : “Probably not. »

Butler remains discreet to avoid a fine, but it looks a lot like a trade request for the former Bulls. He makes it clear that he is not happy and that he wants to bounce back elsewhere, in the hope of finding his best feelings again. According to Charania, he is also ready to join any NBA team, as long as it allows him to escape the Heat.
The question now is whether the Spurs must take their chances. The Texas franchise has already been linked to the Heat star and his availability is confirmed. But Butler is 35 years old and has had some injuries in recent years, which raises some questions.
@JefeHammers : “If the GMs of the Spurs and Warriors don’t try something to recruit Jimmy Butler, not sure they deserve to have their job. »
@WrldSpurs : “It’s easy to see Jimmy Butler at Spurs, but he’s old. We can find better. It would be so funny if they made this trade. He can’t take three points and will retire in 3 years. It’s a terrible idea. »
@JamalBrown_SCTX : “If you’re a Spurs fan, don’t come talking to me about a Jimmy Butler trade. Wait, are you crazy? »
Would recruiting Jimmy Butler be a good idea for the Spurs? Some think yes for the right price, while others are against it. But in order to do their job well, we imagine that the leaders still planned to gather information.
