Author of an excellent first half of the season, Victor Wembanyama is already among the favorites for numerous awards at the end of the year. Fans are also campaigning so that the big man from San Antonio is entitled to a specific honor.

Everyone was waiting for his progress after a superb rookie season, and Victor Wembanyama did not hesitate to respond with manner. While his Spurs are still in the race for the post-season (17-16, tenth in the West), the French pivot is indeed coming out of a tremendous month of December which saw him beat the competition.

As a result, here he is now with completely crazy statistical averages based on 25.6 points, 10 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.9 blocks on average. Fifth in the votes for the West interiors at the All-Star Game, there is no doubt that the former Boulogne-Levallois player should play his first all-star game in February. But knowing him, the Alien will surely not be satisfied with such a hug…

Victor Wembanyama on the All-NBA First Team?

Given its impact on both ends of the field, the Habs can claim a host of other rewards. Second in votes for the DPOY last year, he is once again one of the favorites for the trophy. Above all, and after having already been elected to the All-Defensive Teams in 2023-24, Wemby will logically be a very serious candidate for the All-NBA Teams… it remains to be seen in which the big man will land.

The question was also indirectly raised through the intermediary of ClutchPoints on social networks, the American site launching a very big debate among fans:

These players could be considered the favorites to make the All-NBA First Team: Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic. However, if Luka is ineligible due to the new rules (65 matches required for individual awards), who deserves the final spot?

Injured during the Christmas Game, Doncic will likely miss the entire month of January and in all likelihood, he should not reach the 65-game mark imposed by the NBA. For many supporters, the question therefore does not arise: It is Frenchy who must inherit his place in the best five of the big league.

@SpursAlien : The DPOY which runs in 25/10/4/4, and these numbers will only increase

@CantBreak100 : It’s Wemby who should be in this list, not Luka.

@Myles5x : It’s clearly Wemby lol

Victor Wembanyama is a hit on the floors and on top of that, his Spurs are having a regular campaign beyond expectations. Enough for him to finish on the All-NBA First Team, if he manages to stay the course? At least that’s what we hope for him.
