The NBA named Karl Anthony-Towns (Knicks) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder) as the best players of the month for December 2024.

The Dominican center guided New York to a 12-2 record with averages of 23.2 points, 14.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per day.
With the Knicks jersey, he has 18 consecutive double-doubles, 30-20 since Pat Ewing in the 90s, and is the second NBA player with most double-doubles (28 total), behind Domantas Sabonis of the Kings (29). .
