Android Auto cannot correct these bugs despite updates: what to do?

  • Android Auto suffers from persistent bugs, especially in wireless connection, affecting calls and music despite recent updates
  • Google is testing version 13.4 to resolve these issues, but in the meantime, wired remains the most reliable solution
  • These malfunctions impact the reputation of the application, essential for millions of users on a daily basis.

Android Auto 13.3 fixes some bugs, but unfortunately, others continue to annoy users. The 13.2 patches didn’t fix anything as promised by Google. As explained in the introduction, it’s the wireless connection that presents instabilities, jerking phone calls and music streaming.

So obviously, it is possible to use the wired connectionbut this workaround is impractical for many motorists. Despite the release of the 13.3 update for Android Auto, interruptions and poor audio quality issues persist in wireless mode. Google is currently testing version 13.4 with a small group of users to finally provide a definitive solution.

While waiting for a stable fix, there is several solutions to try hoping the buggy wireless connection works again:

  • Complete reset of the Bluetooth connection between smartphone and vehicle.
  • Checking that the Android app is up to date via the Google Play Store.
  • Using a quality USB cable for a stable and reliable wired connection.

These bugs are even more annoying that the application is essential for millions of motorists around the world. Android Auto is very practical for wireless calls, music streaming, but also access to GPS such as Google Maps or Waze.

That these problems are still present despite several updates supposed to be corrective risks to tarnish the established reputation of an application developed for several years. Google still cannot offer a lasting solution. The wired connection remains, unfortunately, the only reliable option for using Android Auto without disruption.
