Flick on Olmo’s registration with Barcelona: ‘I’m not happy’

* He has watched Barcelona at the Camp Nou since he was a child. * In 1987 he began collaborating with Diario de Barcelona and joined the editorial team of Sport two years later. * Since July 2013, he has been a correspondent for ESPN Deportes Digital in Barcelona.

Hansi Flick has expressed confidence that Laporta will resolve the recordings of Dani Olmo and Víctor, but warned that no one at Barcelona is happy with the situation.

Barça maintains its position, believing that LaLiga must accept the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor because “everything has been submitted and is in order” and no other scenario has been considered. Flick, in his own way, aligns with the club’s point of view.

“Everyone has to do their job. I have confidence in the club and the people involved because they are doing their job, but I don’t want to say much more about it,” Flick said, refraining from giving any hints about his previous conversation with Joan Laporta.

“What I discuss with the president is private. It’s not his problem,” he interrupted in response, after acknowledging that he had indeed spoken with the president after training and before entering in the press room.

Flick was adamant in saying that both players, Olmo and Víctor, “are ready to play” and will “play” as soon as they are registered.

“Today, tomorrow or in three days. As soon as they are registered, the president will hold a press conference,” a Barca source revealed, concluding that in the meantime, Laporta and any other spokesperson will remain silent.

“Once they are registered, whatever the way, the president will give all the explanations,” reiterated the same source, specifying that from now on, “LaLiga and the Federation must make a statement,” now that Barça supposedly provided all payment guarantees.

In the meantime, Flick tries to manage the situation as best he can. He does not know when he will be able to count on Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor again or if he will be able to count on them, although he officially prefers to maintain an “optimistic” tone. “I like to be optimistic.”

Optimistic and perplexed, because he could not hide his surprise when asked about the imminent possible departure of Eric García, who would have been transferred to Girona as soon as the recordings of Olmo and Víctor are finalized. “No, I don’t think so. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but we’re not thinking about him leaving,” said the coach, adding that the Catalan defender “is a very good player.”

No one else says more. Barça is convinced that once the 1:1 Rule is reached, thanks to the operation involving the VIP Boxes (of which no information has been provided either), LaLiga or the Spanish Federation will have to open the door to registration of their players, and for the moment, they are not considering the option of resorting to ordinary justice.
