Frédéric Boisseau, 42, was in the lobby of the building where Charlie hebdo had its headquarters when the brothers Chérif and Saïd Kouachi arrived on January 7, 2015 screaming. Unable to answer the question “where is Charlie?”, this maintenance operations manager for Sodexo was shot dead in the building caretaker's lodge in the arms of his colleague. Frédéric Boisseau is the first victim of the terrorists.
From January 10, in Recloses, his native village in Seine-et-Marne and in Villiers-sous-Grez where he lived, gatherings were organized in tribute to this father of two children. The participants praised him and regretted that his name was rarely mentioned in the media. As if he had been a “forgotten” victim.
A child of the Republic
The funeral of Frédéric Boisseau took place a few days later, on January 20 in Recloses, in the presence of the Minister of Labor at the time, François Rebsamen. The emotion was strong.
During this funeral, François Rebsamen affirmed that there was no “hierarchy of punishments and tributes”, car “the Republic forgets no one and does not distinguish between its children”.
Frédéric Boisseau was buried in Villiers-sous-Grez where he lived.
