A horror scene took place this Wednesday January 1 in a residence in Marseille as revealed by our colleagues from Provence. A 77-year-old man was found dead with his eyes sunken in his sockets.
The events took place in the Sainte-Anne district, located in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille. When firefighters arrived on scene, a 49-year-old woman was in the apartment. She was found in a state of shock and was arrested. The links between this woman and the victim are not yet known.
The opening of an investigation into intentional homicide
The owner, having not heard from her 49-year-old daughter, who lived inside the apartment, asked the neighbor to go there. It was she who discovered the body bathed in a puddle of blood. When they arrived, the firefighters discovered the victim in an advanced state of rigor mortis. This means that the body has been present in the apartment for several days.
An investigation into intentional homicide was opened by the Marseille prosecutor's office to clarify the circumstances of this tragedy.
