Preparing for the Australian Open with one hell of an entry problem. World No.7 Novak Djokovic fell for the first time in 2025 this Friday, dominated by the American Reily Opelka (7-6 (8/6), 6-3) in the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 in Brisbane.
The 2.11 meter American fell to 293e world rank, left no chance to the Serbian, passing 16 aces and multiplying unstoppable shots.

The 25th Grand Slam in the sights
Djokovic, former world No.1 who is coming out of a 2024 season without a Grand Slam title – a first since 2017 – wants to try to get a 25e Grand Slam trophy at the Australian Open, his favorite major tournament which he has won ten times.
He would thus make history by becoming the only one to reach this total, since he is currently tied with Margaret Court, also holder of 24 Grand Slam victories. But this defeat bodes ill for the Serbian before the Australian Open which begins on January 12 in Melbourne.
