The fire started in the passenger seat before extinguishing due to lack of oxygen. Other damage was committed under the wheel, suggesting an attempted theft. A complaint has been filed. Once unlocked, investigators searched the image gallery and discovered an identity card photograph of a 21-year-old man living in Le Puy. He was arrested at his home and did not attempt to deny the alleged facts. He even explained that he was drunk and looking for cigarettes in that car.

Disappointed at not having found any, he then set the chair on fire. He was brought to court last Friday. He was placed under judicial supervision pending his trial in February.
