Netflix reveals early summer release date for season 3 of Squid Game
Season 3 of Squid Game could be released on June 27, 2025 on Netflix: the official YouTube channel of the streaming platform in South Korea published a short teaser mentioning a release date for the next episodes.
The video was quickly removed and replaced with a version without a date in the description, but The internet being what it is, many screenshots have been taken and shared by fansespecially on the Korean series subreddit.
The information should be taken with a grain of salt: it may only be a provisional date, subject to change, and Netflix has not yet confirmed anything for a release on June 27, 2025.
However, the schedule corresponds with previous statements from the creator of Squid GameHwang Dong-hyuk, on the period that could have been chosen for the broadcast of the third season. During an interview for Variety, the showrunner explains that, even if he cannot say much about the plot, he can at least ensure “that after the launch of season 2, the date of season 3 should quickly be announced.” Before, above all, specifying: “I expect it to come out around summer or fall of next year.“
Obviously, such a leak will not have failed to provoke different reactions on the web, with fans saying they are delighted with a summer release: season 2 having been shorter and ending on a cliffhanger, many spectators will having expressed their displeasure at the idea of having to wait any longer to get a real conclusion to Gi-hun’s story within the games.
