Since yesterday Wednesday January 1, 2025, the atrocious murder of the young girl Diarry Sow in Malika has shaken the web. This Thursday, the Minister of Family and Solidarity, Maimouna Dièye, released a press release expressing her “deep sadness” following the tragic death of Diarry Sow, a 12-year-old minor, victim of an attempted rape followed by murder in Malika.

Maimouna Dièye strongly condemned this act and expressed solidarity with the victim’s family. Madam, the minister asked that the law be respected with all its rigor. “This heinous crime must be a signal for Senegalese justice to tirelessly fight against violence against children,” the press release reads.

The Ministry of Family, presenting its condolences to the family of Diarry Sow, affirmed its commitment to providing the necessary support, in coordination with state services.
She nevertheless recalled that the fight against this scourge requires the mobilization of all actors in society and institutions to protect children and ensure their safety.
