Owners of these types of vehicles now have until March 13, 2025 to register their machine, announces MITTA.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport (MITTA) announced this Thursday, in a press release sent to APA, a set of measures aimed at regularizing unregistered motorcycles and strengthening road safety.

According to the ministry, a three-month reprieve is granted to drivers of two-wheelers who do not comply with the registration plate requirement. This measure, effective since December 13, 2024, will extend until March 13, 2025. During this period, registrations will be free from the week of January 6, 2025. MITTA specifies, however, that “ all other grounds for control remain in effect. »

This initiative aims to facilitate the regularization of unregistered motorcycles and encourage owners to comply with legal requirements. “ These measures aim to ensure a smooth transition to a more secure and regulated transport system », Indicates the press release.

Furthermore, MITTA implemented an action plan, in collaboration with various ministries and defense and security forces. The competent authorities, including the National Gendarmerie and the National Police, have harmonized their strategies to identify motorcycles and control the use of these vehicles in order to guarantee safety on the roads.

In this context, it has been decided that unregistered two-wheelers still in circulation after the suspension period will be immediately impounded. The ministry therefore recommends that holders take advantage of this opportunity to register their vehicles free of charge and thus contribute to “ better road safety. »

Finally, the press release recalls the importance of these measures, which aim to “ reduce the risk of accidents and improve public safety. »e

Owners of two-wheelers are invited to contact the regional transport services.
