During school holidays, Bonjour ! remains live on TF1, despite the absence of Bruce Toussaint. This Thursday, Maud Descamps received Thierry Marx, who recounted a failed marriage proposal in one of his restaurants.
Contrary to Don't touch my post on C8 or A Sunday in the countryside on France 2, Bonjour ! remains live for the end-of-year holidays, on air from Monday to Friday between 6:55 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. If Bruce Toussaint, usually at the head of this new meeting, has taken a few days off since December 20, 2024, the TF1 morning show continues without him. Christophe Beaugrand replaced him at short notice three days later. Then it was the turn of Maud Descamps to take the place of her colleague, who had also left. The journalist specializing in consumer and economic issues joined the private channel in January 2024 after six years of good and loyal service in Telematin on France 2.
This Thursday, January 2, 2025, the host once again took control of a new issue of Bonjour !. After receiving Frédéric Valletoux, former Minister of Health, she welcomed chef Thierry Marx on set at 9:15 a.m. for the breakfast interview. The specialist in molecular gastronomy took the opportunity to tell a tasty anecdote while he was questioned about the romantic meetings which took place in his two Parisian restaurants, Madame Brasserie at the Eiffel Tower and Sur Mesure at the Palace Le Mandarin Oriental. “The restaurant remains a meeting point just like the bistro. We forget that these places to eat are absolutely incredible places to connect” he said.
Thierry Marx : “I quickly returned to my kitchen“
Then he confided that he had once had a marriage proposal “catastrophic“. He explained: “One day, I was asked to put a ring in a cake. […] I'm going with my hall manager to bring the cake. The gentleman had done everything: booking a magnificent room, booking the restaurant… Everything was there. I arrive with my cake. I don't really like doing this kind of thing. This gentleman throws himself at the feet of this wonderful lady. He told her that he was going to ask her to marry him. And she pulls back and says: 'It's a bit premature though!' I quickly went into my kitchen and pushed my chef's hat in very deep. It was a cold shower for the entire restaurant.” Note that the broadcast on January 1, 2025 was followed by 224,000 viewers, or 11.6% of the public. A nice score given that Bonjour ! achieves its season record in audience share.
