As the festive season draws to a close, Italian football remains in full swing. Serie A has seen intense activity in the final weeks of 2024, with Atalanta momentarily at the top of the table, tied on points with Napoli (41 points) due to a slight goal difference, while the Inter Milan follow closely in third place with 40 points but have a game in hand. Lazio are hanging on just behind them with 35 points, highlighting the competitive spirit of this year's campaign.

However, this week, Serie A action takes a back seat as Italy prepares for the prestigious Italian Super Cup, which will take place in the vibrant city of Riyadh. The tournament will feature a thrilling showdown between the Serie A champions and runners-up of the 2023-24 season, headlined by Inter and Milan, as well as the winners and runners-up of the Coppa Italia, including Atalanta and Juventus.

The 2025 edition of the Super Cup begins today, with a notable clash that promises to captivate audiences: Inter against Atalanta. This highly anticipated clash is scheduled for Thursday, January 2, at 8:00 p.m. CET.

After this exciting opening match, Juventus will clash with Milan on Friday, January 3, also at 8:00 p.m. CET. The winners of these semi-finals will compete for the ultimate prize in the final scheduled for Monday, January 6, providing what can only be described as a holiday treat for football fans across Italy.

Meanwhile, the other teams are not on hold, as they prepare for the 19th matchday. Clubs including Inter, Atalanta, Juventus, Milan, as well as Como and Bologna, will fill their fixtures during the revised winter break scheduled for January 14-15.
