Anne Marie-Couthouis, 68, nurseryman, started working at the age of 16. She has been selling her flowers and shrubs for 48 years in the markets. In Barbâtre (island of Noirmoutier, Vendée)December 23 was his last day. Anne-Marie is now retired.

“I’m retiring to enjoy my little girl”

To the question of Vendée mail : What are you going to do now? His first response was: “My little girl was born at the beginning of December, her name is Flore, I am retiring to make the most of her. Putting things in order and closing my business will also be my first tasks in January and February.”

“I will miss contact with customers”

She concedes: “I will miss contact with customers. But I cannot leave my trees or my flowers and be absent for several days, this job is an agricultural and market gardening job. When you work with living things you have to be present every day. So I want to be able now visit my granddaughter as much as possible. So I’m stopping, Flore helped me make my decision.”

She will be able to “enjoy the seasons”

Anne-Marie Couthouis loved this job and its environment. Now she will be able to “enjoy the seasons”.
