The subject of water and of sanitation occupied the entirety of the last municipal council of 2024 in Monts d'Aunay, in Calvados, held in mid-December at the town hall ofAunay-sur-Odon. Starting with the evolution of prices for this new year.

New AESN fees, rising prices

Indeed, with in particular the change in the royalty system of theSeine-Normandy Water Agency (AESN) in 2025, the price of drinking water and sanitation increased for consumers since January 1.

Municipal councilors thus voted in majority in favor of the proposal presented during the council: on the basis of consumption of 120 m³ waterthe price including tax per m³ d’drinking water increases to €3.34 (because the price of the subscription has been increased by €5, going from €70 to €75 excluding tax), and that of sanitation, at €2.79 (because the price of the fee has been increased by €0.15 excluding VAT per m³ and the subscription, of €15, increasing from €70 to €85 per year).

A strategy to preserve water

Note that before this, the council had validated the “ strategy for the protection of water resources », a document (focused on “the importance of the water protection approach for the sustainable development of the territory”, the “securing of drinking water production and storage works”, and the “continuation of plans actions to improve distribution and fight against pollution”) necessary for the AESN so that the next work carried out in the municipality can be subsidized.
