It’s only been a few days since season 2 of Squid Game is available on Netflix. After the success of the first season released in 2021, we learned that its creator and the platform were already planning a new season. If a first poster could offer us some clues about what these next episodes have in store for us, the streaming service has just revealed the official date by accident.
Squid Game: season 3 already filmed
After three years of waiting, fans of Squid Game Since December 26, they can discover the episodes of season 2 of the South Korean series. However, the public can only enjoy seven episodes because this season 2 is actually divided into two parts. Seasons 2 and 3 were filmed back to back.
Its creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk explained to Variety that he had planned towriting this new plot over 8 to 9 episodes but once finished, it stretched beyond what seemed to him to be too long. Still in this same interview, the director advised fans to watch the latest episode carefully to understand what direction future episodes would head in of the narrative arc.
In the meantime, Netflix has already started communicating on this season 3 which is planned for this year. For this, the streaming platform revealed a first poster, strange to say the least, offering fans to look for the slightest clue to know what the rest of season 2 will have in store for them and above all to witness the epic and emotion-rich finale promised by the creator of the series. Because yes, Squid Game season 3 will indeed be the last. It must be said that at the end of season 2 which has already attracted millions of spectators, they were left on a huge cliffhanger. Needless to say, the fans are impatient.

Netflix accidentally reveals Squid Game season 3 release date
But good news, it seems that the wait won’t be that long if we are to believe the dump made by Netflix Korea’s X account. Effectively, the community manager of the account in question accidentally revealed the broadcast date of the last burst of episodes of Squid Game. Hwang Dong-hyuk had already stated that he thought Netflix would launch season 3 around summer or fall 2025. It is clear that it will be before because the publication (which has since been deleted) indicates that season 3 of Squid Game will be broadcast on June 27.
