Lin Marseillaise offers a (non-exhaustive) summary of the important changes for citizens from 1is January.
The pension revaluation rate will be maintained at 2.2%. Its reduction had been announced by the government of Michel Barnier but the censorship of December 4 made the proposal obsolete. Another consequence of the Barnier government's censorship, the extension of the system allowing the use of restaurant vouchers to purchase all food products in large retailers has not been renewed.
It will therefore no longer be possible to buy anything other than sandwiches, salads and prepared meals in supermarkets with the famous tickets. A proposal for an extension will, however, be examined on January 15 in the Senate.
For caregivers
People receiving the daily caregiver allowance will now be able to renew their rights for a period of 66 days to care for another loved one. Finally, the PEL remuneration rate will increase from 2.25% to 1.75% for all PELs opened from 1is January 2025. The rate is in fact determined by the opening date.
New things
-for housing
Protecting our territories against fires is a major challenge for the region. Owners in areas exposed to the risk of fire will be required to inform tenants and buyers of the legal clearance obligations (OLD). The map is available on the prefecture websites. Another new feature, within the framework of the “Climate and Resilience” law, housing with a DPE classification of G is officially recognized as indecent. They can therefore no longer be offered for rental. To support the energy transition effort, a reduction in VAT which could bring it to 5.5% is possible in the context of work on housing. New criteria to benefit from it will be taken into account from 1is January.
The projects must concern premises completed at least two years ago, and within the framework of housing projects. They must also aim to improve energy performance (thermal insulation, heating, ventilation, domestic hot water).
