During the third week of their annual holiday traffic enforcement program, Winnipeg police noticed an increase in impaired driving cases.

The program launched on December 3 and continued throughout the month.

In a press release released Tuesday, Winnipeg police explained that 784 vehicles were checked during the third week of the program, and that 37 cases of impaired driving were identified.

This led to four drink driving charges and 33 immediate driving bans.

The cannabis screening test was positive for five motorists.
