Saturday, December 28, the cultural center was dressed up to celebrate the early retirement of Marie Cros, general director of town hall services. Employed at the Community of Communes of the “Pyrénées Audoises”, it was in 2017 that she found herself general director of services for the Reverte municipality.
After the 2020 elections, Marie Cros decided to request a transfer to Hérault but several factors made her reconsider her decision: “The death of Yveline did a lot for me to stay and then with Christian Soula we had the same objectives and we were on the same wavelength, we felt that we could do something.”
Without knowing it, the new municipality of Christian Soula had just won big! From a financial situation on the verge of collapse, the Cros-Soula tandem was going to turn things around and put the locomotive back on track. “We straightened out the finances of the municipality, we restored the link, projects saw the light of day, the grant requests were successful… We worked calmly with the agents and the elected officials”, recalls Marie Cros who specifies “c “It’s the culmination of my career.” Her career will therefore have ended on Saturday, but Marie Cros will still follow the news of the hat-making city and in particular the solar farm project: “If the project succeeds, we will celebrate without moderation with Christian Soula.”
But in the meantime, it is alongside her family that Marie will continue “her career as a mother and grandmother” in Canada. Her husband Jean paid her a beautiful tribute: “From now on together we will continue to learn, to discover, to be of service”.
-Mayor Christian Soula, really moved, declared: “Losing the DGS is losing the skeleton of life… I understood the complexity of your work… Friday when I arrived, I went to your office and it was hard to no longer have you by our side.”
After thanking everyone present “Thank you all for being part of this incredible trip”, Marie Cros invited everyone present to share a very nice aperitif dinner. Happy retirement Marie and thank you again!
Marie Cros will be replaced in her services by Viviane Laporte.
