To attract people this winter, the Libé “Food Court” is strengthening its gourmet offerings as well as its thematic evenings. In particular, there is a “happy hour” at discounted prices and a program of entertainment for all tastes.
The Gare du Sud continues to be talked about, the Liberation district is almost everywhere in the city. After the failure of a first private manager, the gourmet market reopened two years ago in the hands of the Iera family group. Everyone has since formed their own opinion on their concept of “food corner” Mediterranean. Last November 19, Nice-Presse collected customer opinions, which were well shared. Some are excited by the resurrection of this Nissart monument, by the activities offered, others regretting the price level or the lack of diversity of the menu.
Just before New Year's Eve, the managers sent to Nice-Presse their plan for the new year: “in 2025, things will start strong again at the station!” is thus promised. To attract customers until Liberation, Mediterraneo is banking on “happy hour with some of the lowest prices in the region”between 5 and 7 p.m. “every day” (a pint, a Spritz or a soft drink from 3.90 euros, with prices that change throughout the evening).
On the weekend, meet around the Citroën van installed in the middle of the hall, with a “food truck” atmosphere… but warm. “Every Saturday in January: raclette and Breton pancakes. On Sunday, couscous and pasta with parmesan wheel”.
To match the season, “we will now be open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 5 p.m. to midnight from Wednesday to Friday, and from 8 a.m. to midnight on weekends. The restaurant IT Italian Trattoria maintains its usual hours.. On the map side, there too, new features are mentioned, but we do not know more.
Beyond the plate, Gare du Sud also relies on two pillars: games and sport. Thus, pinball machines, darts, billiards and board games remain accessible. In addition to a new arrival, the shuffleboard, “which consists of sliding pucks on a large game table (two, here, Editor’s note) and score as many points as possible. — from January 6.
“Fan Zone” evenings will also be included (Line 1, Top 14, Champions League, etc.), with live match broadcasts, thanks to the two giant screens that the monument has installed.
