The Emergency Program for the Modernization of Border Axes and Territories (PUMA) announced a symbolic birth at the Darou Mbapp health post, in the Nioro department (Kaolack region).
This newborn, nicknamed “the Baby of Equity 2025”, embodies the efforts made to encourage women to attend health structures, thus guaranteeing optimal care in the field of maternal and child health.

The fifth edition of the celebration of the “Baby of Equity” will take place on Thursday January 2, 2025 at the very place of his birth, in Darou Mbapp. This event, organized by PUMA, aims to raise awareness of the importance of equitable access to care and to improve the living conditions of communities.
Placed under the presidency of Maïmouna Dièye, Minister of Family and Solidarity, the ceremony will pay tribute to this newborn, symbol of the rights of every child, regardless of their place of birth. This initiative once again illustrates PUMA’s commitment to social and territorial justice.
