We chose for this Quinté+ the following reference race (Sunday December 15 – Pau – Prix Abel Ramon Diago – 3800m hurdles) in which seven competitors were in the running and meet again this Monday (Never Risk, New President, Just In Time Blue, Raffles Liaison, General Desjy, Panarea and Hooker de Brenus).
Last turn -> last hurdle
Never Risk et General Desjy jump the turning hurdle together in a beautiful way. They start the final straight in the lead, with a certain lead.
New President is sixth when jumping the penultimate hurdle then is hampered and turns very wide, which probably costs him the victory.
Just In Time Blue is fifth in the last turn, with a mistake on the hurdle, not ideal when entering the final phase.
Raffles Liaison advances on the rope side and hits Just In Time Blue after jumping the penultimate hurdle.
Panarea had difficulty following and was stopped just after jumping the penultimate hurdle.
Hooker de Brenus jumps into the lead over the penultimate hurdle but leans hard to his left, slips away then is stopped.
Last hurdle -> Arrival
Never Risk passes the last hurdle without problem and flies away to a fairly easy victory. Even if he didn't finish the strongest, his race was very positive.
New President is third when he crosses the last hurdle and draws a very nice final straight line.
Just In Time Blue courageously finished in third place, without however accelerating.
Raffles Liaison jumps the last hurdle moderately then finishes with a fairly average action.
General Desjy makes a big mistake at the last hurdle that he stops it almost completely. He finished fifth.
Panarea exits the screen after being stopped.
It is no longer a question of Hooker de Brenus since the last turn.
Conclusion
Never Risk has a first chance with number 12 and therefore 65 kilos on his back, and keeps him very fit Gabin Meunier.
New President is the very good note of this reference race. He only has to repeat this race to claim a good ranking, and even victory.
Just In Time Blue et Raffles Liaison finish in the same way, in third and fourth places. Their end of stroke is correct but in a Quinté+ with 16 starters, it could be more difficult.
General Desjy will have to finish his race better to hope to make the finish in this big handicap. At the bottom of the table, he will carry a small weight.
Panareaafter a good autumn, remains on two results outside the Top 5. She likes Pau but his last race leaves doubt.
Hooker de Brenus was well in the race until 550m from the line when he completely carried his jockey.
