The start of the year will be accompanied by a change in the weather after a relatively calm New Year's Eve. Disturbances are announced in several regions by Météo-France as well as a strong variation in temperatures.
Clouds, starry skies in the mountains, mildness on the northwest coast… The night of New Year's Eve was relatively calm, according to Météo-France.
The next few days of this new year 2025 should be a little less so. The station's experts are announcing a rainy disturbance which will gradually reach the coast of the Channel and the North Sea. “It will be accompanied by a strong gale with gusts of 90/100, locally 110 km/h. At the end of the evening, the rain will reach the Paris region with there also a strengthening of the wind up to 70/80 km /h”.
“Beautiful clearings”
In Occitania, as in the rest of the country, “beautiful clearings” and one “significant rise in temperatures” are planned for this January 1st, “around 6 to 10°C in the East, 9 to 13°C in general and peaks at 14/16°C near the Pyrenees and in Corsica”.
Cold and snow
This Thursday, January 2, 2024, snow is expected to fall in the Grand Est. Significant quantities of around 10 to 20 centimeters on the heights of the Vosges and Jura are expected.
-In the South, the weather should remain mild at the end of the week, including the weekend. However, a rainy disturbance will arrive from Vendée to the South-West from Friday. Snow could cover the far north of the country, according to Météo-France.

“Fairly cold weather is expected over three quarters of the country, without excess, but with a disturbance. Everywhere else, the sky will be very cloudy with a few showers.
