The war in Ukraine is still raging and some personalities from the countries concerned are on the front lines. Unfortunately, some do not have the chance to go home…

The war in Ukraine mobilizes thousands of people, including former footballers. On the Russian side, Aleksei Bougayev took part in the fight. The former Lokomotiv Moscow defender unfortunately did not come out alive. His death was in fact confirmed by his father during the night from Sunday to Monday. “Unfortunately, the news that Aleksei died has been confirmed”Ivan Bougayev told the sports information site sports.ru, cited by the German press agency DPA.

Aleksei Bougaïev will have worn the jersey of the Russian selection 7 times. He notably participated in Euro 2004 in Portugal. The former player was sent to the front to reduce his prison sentence for drug trafficking. He was 43 years old
