These last matches of 2024 will have kept all their promises in the Premier League. Headlining this evening, a Manchester United – Newcastle which turned sour for the Mancuniens. In the 4th minute, Alexander Isak opened the scoring with a header for the Magpies and scored his 11th goal in 16 league matches. A defense pierced and the Red Devils without reaction to the ultra domination of their opponent. 15 minutes later, it was Joelinton who beat Onana for 2-0 on a cross from Anthony Gordon. Two logical goals as the Mancuniens made no effort to project themselves despite a 2-1 ball just before half-time. Note the premature exit of Joshua Zirkzee in the 33rd minute, replaced by Mainoo to find a solid base in the middle.
Failed coaching for Ruben Amorim who was unable to re-motivate his troops in the second half despite some proud reactions. Too low a level of play and Manchester United lost for the third consecutive time in the league and reached a sad 14th place. For its part, Newcastle climbs to 5
