The Chief Police Commissioner, Mohamed Lamine Simankan, was officially installed in his new position at the general secretariat at the presidency, responsible for special services and the fight against drugs and organized crime.

The handover between him and his predecessor, Divisional Police Commissioner Abdoul Malick Koné, took place within the premises of the said service, this Monday, December 30, 2024, in the presence of executives from the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection.

The outgoing Secretary General took the opportunity to express his thanks to the President of the Transition, General Mamadi Doumbouya for the trust placed in him, for two years, at the head of this strategic structure.

Divisional police commissioner Abdoul Malick Koné then listed some achievements in terms of actions but also results obtained by his team.

“Indeed, during these two (2) years and a few months, despite the weakness of our means which have just been seriously reinforced, we have accomplished missions, certainly difficult, but exhilarating in the fight against organized crime in all its forms. its forms, organized crime as well as in the prevention and protection against the destabilization of the institutions of the Republic. This is not the time for a debate speech but in addition to thanks I will give instructions. However, the seizures made on various types of drugs, fake medicines and other prohibited products for which statistics are available are illustrative of the efforts made. he indicated.

His successor, for his part, emphasized some of his priorities. The new boss of the special services, the fight against drugs and organized crime, Chief Police Commissioner Mohamed Lamine Simankan, underlined the great expectations of the population on security issues. This is why he stressed the urgency of moving quickly to restore their confidence.

“The people’s expectations regarding security are high, this is the hope that my appointment to this position arouses. Because there is an urgency to move quickly and well and the Guineans have a lot of hope in the missions of my service which constitutes a priority for the President of the Republic. It is essentially a question of restoring trust between my service and the population, of reducing violence, of stopping trafficking of all kinds and above all of finding solutions”he stressed.

Continuing, he called for the patriotic spirit and mobilization of all his collaborators, in particular the executives of the service, in achieving his mission.

“Dear colleagues, to achieve my objectives I appeal to your patriotic spirit, your mobilization and your unfailing commitment, in cohesion and solidarity. Because, alone, I can go fast, but together, we can go very far,” he invited.

By supervising this handover between the two police officers, Auditor General Dr Joseph Togna Doré thanked the outgoing man for his management. He also welcomed the graduate.

Finally, he had to clarify the major role of the service in protecting citizens and preserving stability in Guinea.

“Your department is a strategic, statistical department. Because without security, anarchy will reign and with anarchy nothing decent can be built and I think that is why the incoming Secretary General was promoted by the Head of State, because that he knows him and knows that with him good work will be done”he declared, before proceeding with the installation of the latter.
