At the end of a breathless final, Laurens Sweeck won the Superprestige of Diegem ahead of Niels Vandeputte and Thibau Nys.
In the men’s race, the suspense was total. As they pass under the bell, with one lap to go, there are still seven riders still in contention for victory. In the last few meters, Thibau Nys tried everything, but was unable to get rid of Laurens Sweeck. The latter takes the lead in the final straight while Nys loses his shoes and falls to third place. 2ᵉ, Niels Vandeputte consolidates his position as leader overall.
At 6 p.m., the women set off for eight laps of racing. In the absence of Puck Pieterse, who was ill, we witnessed a great duel between Lucinda Brand and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. The Dutch champion showed her power on a flatter section to make the difference over her compatriot. Alvarado is 2nd, ahead of Inge van der Heijden, who completes the podium. In the general classification, Brand is one point behind Alvarado.
