The dream of a lifetime
All alpine skiing enthusiasts, all fans of the discipline have known, for several years, the talent of Zrinka Ljutic.
Considered one of the future stars of technical disciplines, the Croatian made all the hopes placed in her come true today in Semmering. Under the eyes of his father, his trainer at the time, Ljutic won his first race at the age of 20.
“This has been my dream since I was little, and to achieve it today was simply incredible”and declared by Zrinka Ljutic.
“In the start hut, before my second descent, I was probably more nervous than ever. Then, once on the track, I felt unsettled and I wasn’t sure if I was fast enough, so I tried to push until the end.
I really wanted to take advantage of this opportunity and I did. As I crossed the finish line I saw that I was first and that’s all that mattered to me, I just wanted to get the victory.
And then when I saw the time and 1’75 ahead, I said to myself: what is that? This doesn’t make any sense. »
With the recovery of Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova, women’s alpine skiing has likely found its new slalom queen for the decade to come.
