Cigarettes will cost even more in 2025. According to a decree published on December 10, 2024 in the Official Journal, the price of tobacco will see a significant increase from January 1. Cigars, cigarettes, heating or rolling tobacco… All products are affected, and almost no brand is spared.
30 cents more minimum

- Gauloise Blonde Red in 20 units: 12.30 (+ 30 cents)
- Lucky Strike red in 20 units: 12,50 euros (+ 50 cents)
- New Classic Red in 20 units: 12,50 euros (+ 30 cents)
- Winston Classic (rigid package) in 20 units: 12,50 euros (+50 cents)
- Camel Filters (rigid package) in 20 units: 12,50 euros (+50 cents)
- Marlboro Red (rigid package) in 20 units: 13 euros (+50 cents)
These increases are not the only ones expected in 2025. Other increases could be published in the Official Journal during the year. However, with the Social Security financing bill on hold (due to censorship by Michel Barnier's government), the increase in tobacco taxation for next year has not yet been voted on by the parliamentarians.

As a reminder, tobacco is responsible for 75,000 deaths per year in France, that is to say one in eight deaths. Some 12 million French people smoke daily. The annual social cost of tobacco is estimated at 156 billion euros.
