Marc Labrèche has been, for many years, an important figure in the Quebec cultural community. Indeed, whether through his multiple television roles or even hosting shows, each more striking than the last, such as his most recent project I come to you, he knows how to stand out and highlight value his teammates and guests.
Despite his large presence in the media, he is discreet about his private life, he who rarely confides in an interview. The interpreter of Richard Sicotte in Inspirez exhale, however, deviated from the rule recently, as part of Marie-Claude Barrette’s podcast, Open your game. The concept, tested many times with a host of personalities before him, once again hits the mark with Marc, who confides without filter about his career, his childhood and his family life.
He also reveals that at a certain time, reconciling work and family was more complicated, when he turned to the profession of animator to offer more choices to his children:
« I had the impression that by becoming an animator, there was a defeat of something. It’s like I don’t trust myself as an actor or I feel like people don’t trust me as an actor. I had to earn my living and I had two children. I wanted us to be comfortable. […] I went in and said to myself: “OK, it’s going to last a year, two years or three years.” I invented super complicated, high standards for myself, I don’t know what, that I wasn’t capable of achieving. There was no point in creating an image like that, which was ultimately far from me. This is where I begin to understand that: “Ah, there is a way to do this job, to host on TV, there is a way that I am starting to find, where I find a certain comfort. ” Strangely! It took a long time! »
Very touching words, which we look forward to discovering in their entirety!
The interview will be available for free on Monday January 6, on the main listening platforms. Please note, however, that it is available now for paid Patreon subscribers. More details here.
On another note, let’s remember that Marc Labrèche has once again offered us a salvo of parodies that are as delicious as they are ingenious this fall, including a particularly salty one on Luc Langevin and his new manager Josélito Michaud. To discover in this article.
