A Street Museum Takes Root in Saint-Chamond – 42info Saint-Étienne

Called “Mausa H07”, this cultural project of international scope will be located in the heart of Halle 07 in Novaciéries, an industrial building rehabilitated for the occasion. With its 10,000 square meters, this future setting promises a unique experience, bringing together lovers and the general public around interactive and immersive creations.

An Ambition Driven by Stanislas Belhomme

The project is led by Stanislas Belhomme, a passionate cultural entrepreneur and accustomed to innovative initiatives in the artistic field. A graduate of the École du Louvre, he developed his concept of “Museums of Urban Arts and Street Art” (Mausa) in several regions of . Mausa H07, the fourth edition of this adventure, aims to attract 200,000 visitors per year, thus making Saint-Chamond an unmissable cultural destination.

The museum is not limited to an elitist artistic experience. It is aimed at everyone, combining accessibility and innovation. Visitors will be able to explore monumental works by Denis Meyers, a Belgian artist known for his immersive creations.

An Architectural and Cultural Transformation

Hall 07, a former industrial cathedral built in 1899, was selected for its impressive size and unique charm. Its gigantic dimensions (150 meters long and 17 meters under the ceiling) will make it possible to exhibit exceptional works and offer unique interactive experiences. Part of the spaces will be accessible free of charge, offering a prestigious taste of the possibilities of street art.

Saint-Étienne Métropole, through Cap Métropole, has invested more than 8 million euros to renovate the site, thus affirming its commitment to the cultural influence of the region.

A Highly Anticipated Opening

After delays linked to construction constraints, the opening is set for May 29, 2025. This launch should be marked by a spectacular event, including a concert by a world-renowned artist.

This project is part of a dynamic aimed at promoting industrial heritage while offering an accessible platform to contemporary creators. Through this initiative, Stanislas Belhomme hopes to bring together a large audience around a renewed vision of urban art, focusing on inclusion and innovation.
