It was also the captain of Victoire who scored the winning goal. In the second period, the famous number 29 made a backhand fake to put the puck behind goalie Maddie Rooney. It was Poulin’s second goal since the start of the season.

Mariah Keopple and Alexandra Labelle were the other two Victory skaters to move the ropes. Both women scored in the first period and it was their first goal in 2024-2025.

In front of the Montreal cage, Ann-Renée Desbiens repelled 22 of the 24 pucks sent in her direction. She was thwarted by shots from Britta Curl-Salemme and Brooke McQuigge.

By virtue of this win, the Victory now has a record of 4-1-0. She will return to action and Place Bell on Monday evening, as part of a visit from the Boston Fleet.
