On December 3 in Conakry, capital of Guinea, Habib Marouane Camara, publishing director of the information site lererevelateur224.com and investigative journalist, was apprehended by security forces and taken to an unknown location.

More than three weeks after this kidnapping, the family and colleagues have still had no news of him. A situation which plunges Mariama Lamarana Diallo, his wife, into anguish.

“If I say that I feel good, it is perhaps to mask the reality of things a little. I just pretend to not let this sadness inside me show. But I’m still in this darkness, I can’t always find answers to my questions, so it’s a bit difficult for me, I don’t really feel like myself with my husband away.” she confided.

Several days without seeing their father, the atmosphere becomes heavy among the journalist’s children who begin to ask questions, notably “When is Dad coming?” ». The mother in family status, lacking an answer to this legitimate question, finds herself unable to satisfy her child, and is forced to find other alternatives to satisfy the child’s concerns.

“The biggest boy is the one who is at the disruptive age, he is six and a half years old. He asks me every time: Dad, when is he coming? He lasted a long time this time, because usually when he travels he doesn’t spend enough time. Why is it taking so long this time and also why isn’t he calling me on the phone? There are all these questions that have come since he left. I always try to find answers like where his dad is, there is no network and I often tell him that when he calls me, it turns out that he is in the process of to sleep”, she maintains sadly.

As a reminder, her husband was kidnapped on the evening of December 3, 2024 while he was on his way to KPC. According to Mariama Lamarana Diallo, the latter was one of the first people she contacted after the act.

“I immediately had the idea to call KPC. I called him twice, three times, I think. He didn’t respond at the time. So, it was around 11 p.m. after the act that he called me back. He confirmed to me that my husband had an appointment with him. But frankly, he doesn’t know anything about it anymore. And until then, he didn’t call me again, it stayed like that,” she indicates.

Although this situation has caused indignation in national and international opinion, Mariama Lamarana Diallo calls for the intensification of actions for the release of her husband. This is why she pleads with press associations for the organization of mobilization days in favor of her husband.

After a first letter addressed to the President of the transition without response, Mariama Lamarana Diallo once again requests the personal involvement of the Head of State for the release of her husband.

“I always call for his personal involvement, so that he can help me find my husband. I’m not asking for much, I want to at least get a call, even if it’s just one phone call at the moment. It would have relieved me, it would have helped me to live daily life with the children, the idea of knowing that he is alive, he is doing well. Even if he doesn’t tell me where he is being held, at least I have this chance to hear my husband’s voice. And I ask for the involvement of the president because in fact, he is best placed to investigate,” she said.

“If it continues like this, I have to act. I have to get up and then I go to him with the envelope in hand in the hope that they will pass it on to him,” she concludes.
