While the controversy swells around his board game Who will be the liar?YouTuber Michou asked his subscribers for forgiveness this Friday, December 27. The game, sold as a general audience, contains questions about sex, alcohol and drugs.
A bad surprise that the parents could have done without this Christmas. While some bought the game Who will be the liar?created by YouTuber Michou, for their minor children, they were disillusioned when they discovered the questions. The card game, presented as being “for all audiences”, contains questions around sex, drugs or alcohol. “Have you ever used an everyday object to do something naughty?” can we read for example, as reported The Parisian. On social networks, unhappy customers immediately expressed their anger. “My 9 year old niece received this for Christmas. The creators of this game really have a problem recommending it to children”, comments a user on X (formerly Twitter), supporting photo of the cards. This Friday, December 27, Michou wanted to apologize.
After the controversy, Michou apologizes and promises to find a solution
In his Instagram stories, the YouTuber with 4.8 million subscribers on Instagram wrote: “I have just seen complaints made on the networks in relation to the board game ‘Who will be the liar’. There was indeed an error on the part of the publisher on the age target of the game, I am inquiring on what we can do and I’ll let you know quickly. I want to apologize to anyone who might have been disappointed by this, really.” The controversy therefore does not seem to be over for the moment. Especially since the way Michou promoted the game could backfire. A few weeks ago, he explained that he was “simple to understand, ideal for playing with friends, family, or even with new acquaintances…” The notion of family, even if it does not necessarily imply minor children, has apparently led to confusion.
