The president of the Council of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima group of local authorities for distribution, Mounir Laymouri, mayor of Tangier, chaired, Thursday at the headquarters of the prefecture of Fahs-Anjra, the work of an extraordinary session of the Council.
This session was an opportunity for council members to discuss “several strategic files aimed at strengthening the management of public services and ensuring complementarity between local authorities”, indicates a press release from the municipality of Tangier.
The Council also examined and approved its internal regulations, as well as the statutes of the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima SA regional multi-service company.
It also approved the shareholders’ agreement of the regional company and the contribution to the capital of the local development company “Company for the development of public installations for distribution SA”, as well as its updated statuses.

As part of the strengthening of institutional partnerships, the Council recorded the assumption by the State, through the Ministry of the Interior, of the group’s contribution to the capital of the “Regional multi-service company” and the “SA Public Facilities Development Corporation”.
The Council also approved the document of accession to the framework agreement for the implementation of the plan to transfer the debts of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water to the owners of the installation.
According to the press release, these decisions aim to improve the management of public facilities, develop the quality of services provided and strengthen partnerships between local authorities and the State, to achieve sustainable development in the region.
Created in accordance with the organic law relating to prefectures and provinces, the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima grouping of local authorities for distribution has the mission of managing water, electricity and liquid sanitation distribution services, as well as to contribute to supplying the rural world with these services.
