After Chancel Mbemba, Bamo Meïté and Amine Harit, it is Ruben Blanco who is now invited to leave the ship as Provence explains. Arriving in 2022 as a promising goalkeeper, the 29-year-old Spaniard was already not in the plans last summer. However, an ankle injury complicated things, preventing Blanco's departure while Geronimo Rulli arrived as the indisputable starter, assisted by Jeffrey de Lange.
Ruben Blanco left against zero euros in January?
Blanco, for his part, is therefore more than ever pushed towards leaving, in particular because of a salary described as “comfortable” by the Provencal daily. Under contract until 2026, he is estimated at 1.5 million euros, but the club seems ready to negotiate to facilitate his departure, and could even agree to a departure without compensation. A choice which responds to the desire of Pablo Longoria and Mehdi Benatia to rationalize the workforce on a financial level while leaving space to welcome new reinforcements.
