Among the big new features of this NBA season, the Clippers’ Intuit Dome. Fruit of the genius (and bank account) of Steve Ballmer, this room was heralded as a technological gem. So, have the promises been kept? TrashTalk went there and brings you behind the scenes of the new Los Angeles juggernaut.
A big thank you to Louis, who was in Los Angeles to show us a Clippers game at the Intuit Dome.
Places for The Wall Please !
Before heading towards the Intuit Dome, the best thing is to secure your seats. Even if it means having a sick experience, you might as well do it thoroughly. So we are looking for a place for the essential The Wall.
The Clippers announced it and they didn’t lie. Seats for the Ultra des Voiliers stand are not for everyone. Except that we don’t lose motivation and we go in search of the precious sesame. After what can seem like a real cross between sending emails, following on Instagram and learning the birthday of Chuck The Condor in order to prove that we are really die-hard fans of the Clippers (in reality, we just really want to live this experience to the fullest), we finally manage to get tickets.
70 dollars spent to find yourself at the top of the stand for a Clippers – Suns which already promised to be exciting.
Welcomed like kings (or almost) at the Intuit Dome
This is where the Intuit Dome has been and still is a lot of criticism. In reality, there are two opposing schools: the point of view of the Angelinos and ours, simple tourists in pursuit of an incredible experience.
If we each spent $70 to buy a space, that’s also the price we paid to park in the parking lot. A price to put into perspective knowing that there were seven of us, but we can largely understand that it bothers more regular spectators.
In addition, a simple glance at social networks is enough to see that the parking lots at the Intuit Dome are not at their best, unlike everything else in the room.
Exactly, the rest of the room, we are about to discover it.
In truth, our arrival begins even before we leave. Put like that, it seems quite a particular concept, let’s explain.
When we took our seats, we had to install an app to transfer the tickets onto them and take a selfie in order to fill out the Game Face ID. All these manipulations allow us to take a queue without a queue. Better yet, at the end of this tunnel, we come across a room employee who calls us by our first name and who welcomes us.
Getting into the Intuit Dome took us literally 30 seconds. A unique accessibility in this area and which contrasts with the crowded scenes surrounding the Bruno Mars concert at the time of the inauguration of the hall (August 2024). For those who don’t know, the Intuit Dome employees had miscalculated their move and the American star’s concert had been delayed by 30 minutes, the time for everyone to find their seats. So we go from a 30 minute delay to an arrival in 30 seconds!
The organizers of the Clippers’ new jewel had announced that they were working on solutions to resolve accessibility problems, we can say that they didn’t lie there either!
An unforgettable experience
To access the store, the same, you have to scan your head to be able to enter. If the Intuit Dome was Big Brother, we had to be told.
In short, we do our little shopping with joy and good humor and when it’s time to pay, surprise! No cash register! You put on your jersey, you go out and presto you are automatically debited from your account.
Discovering the Intuit Dome!
Well, if you’re here, it’s for one thing, to know what a game is like in the Intuit Dome.
Here we are, preparing to return to our seats, Nicolas Batum jerseys on our backs because even on the other side of the world, we remain chauvinistic!
First thing, the Halo. It’s a DIN-GUE-RIE and again, it borders on understatement. It looks like a perfectly lit paper poster. It’s hard to describe it, but the result is incredible.
When we are about to go to our seats, we come across the only normal thing in this unique room. An usher comes to show us our seats except that there too, an irrational event occurs.
She offers us to go down about ten ranks (yes yes 10, there is no exaggeration), if we all have equipment bearing the image of the Clippers. And about ten rows lower, it’s THE WALL! You can imagine that we’re not going to miss such an opportunity and presto, we’re all going back to the checkout.
Here we are very close to tambourines which will punctuate our evening for 2h30. If the Clips’ victory was not there, the atmosphere was there from the first to the last second of this meeting.
We wanted to live the crazy experience promised by Steve Ballmer, we were not disappointed! We can only advise you to take a look at the Intuit Dome if you are passing through Los Angeles. I promise, you won’t regret it.
