Cyprien Sarrazin suffered a heavy fall during downhill training in Bormio, Italy.
SKI – The images send shivers down your spine. Best time in the first session on Thursday, Cyprien Sarrazin dominated the second training session of the Bormio downhill this Friday, December 27 when he suffered a very violent fall. In the Eurosport images, we see the French skier lose control and bounce violently twice on the icy slope.
Transported by helicopter to Sondalo hospital after a quarter of an hour of immobilization, the second best downhiller in the world last season underwent examinations which revealed an intracranial hematoma.
The French Ski Federation announced at the end of the afternoon that there will be opera in the evening “ to drain the subdural hematoma. “Cyprien is conscious, he remains under surveillance in the neurological intensive care unit”Stéphane Bulle, the French team doctor, had clarified a little earlier.

The Bormio downhill, third round of the downhill World Cup, is considered one of the most dangerous of the season. It is on this same Stelvio that the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games downhill will take place in 2026. Last year, Cyprien Sarrazin won the race, one of his four victories this season which made him one of the best skiers in the world.
