Two women spent their Christmas Eve stranded in a golf course after falling 15 meters from a cliff. Emergency services were only able to save them the next morning.
The incident occurred at The Quarry golf course located in Florida. The venue is unlike any other golf course in the US state with its canyons and steep hills.
A fall of 15 meters into the void
Two women fell 15 meters from quarry cliff on Christmas Eve “cavernous” of the golf course, reports the NY Post.
They were not discovered until the next day, according to Florida rescuers: “The incident occurred on Christmas Day but was not discovered until Thursday morning. Despite adverse weather conditions preventing air support, teams managed to carry out a rescue below”specified the emergency services on their Facebook page.
In stable condition
The two women, whose identities have not been revealed, were lucky to survive this fall and this trying night during which temperatures fell to 10 degrees, explained the Miami Herald.
A rescue mission “from a low angle” could be carried out early this Thursday, specifies the daily. It is unknown at this stage whether the two women had come to play golf, indicate our colleagues.
They were transported to a local trauma hospital. Details of their injuries have not been released, but both women are in stable condition.
