Marion Norbert-Riberolle won in front of Sanne Cant this Friday at the Loenhout cyclocross.
Once again slowed down by a complicated start, Marion Norbert-Riberolle then started the diesel engine to return to the leading group, this Friday, at the Loenhout cyclocross.
In the absence of the Dutch leaders, a Belgian-Belgian duo then isolated themselves in the lead: Sanne Cant, the Belgian champion and her teammate, Marion Norbert-Riberolle. The latter took control of the race after an error by Sanne Cant (who had already crashed in the same place earlier in the race) near the pits.
Solid, the runner then managed her advantage to finally win a few seconds ahead of the one who made her want to do cyclocross when she was younger. A victory all the more symbolic as Sanne Cant is competing in the last cross-country races of her career. The 34-year-old rider has won the last 15 Belgian championships.
