Morocco has just completed a fertilizer export transaction to Argentina, sources within the port authority in San Lorenzo in Argentina tell L’Opinion.

This is an export of 15,000 tonnes of phosphate rocks to San Lorenzo with an arrival scheduled for February 1, 2025.

This cargo is in addition to those already materialized on December 6 as indicated by L’Opinion.

As a reminder, phosphate rock prices have been stable since January 2024, standing at $152.50/metric ton.

This cargo will be loaded on the bulk carrier LAKE GRASSMERE. It is a bulk carrier flying the Panamanian flag, its overall length is 182.93 meters and its width is 31 meters.

However, the other two shipments will be loaded on the bulk carrier “BUNUN TREASURE”, a beating bulk carrier from Liberia.

For Morocco’s imports from this South American country for the month of December, L’Opinion specified last week that Morocco is expecting two shipments of soybean meal and soybean hull pellets from Argentina totaling 24,000 tonnes of the first and 6,000 tonnes of the second, according to the same source.

The loading of this cargo will take place on December 27 from the port of San Lorenzo.

For information, the downward trend in soybean meal prices which has been established since the beginning of October seems to be giving way to stability. The price of a ton of soybeans is now $373/ton.

As for soybean hull pellets, they stand at $292.1/ton.

The ship that will import this cargo to Morocco from the said Argentinian port is ZBB SERENITY. It is a bulk carrier flying the flag of Malta, its total length is 189.99 meters and its width is 28.5 meters.
