Maybe it won't rehabilitate Portland to get back into the serious contenders for a playoff spot but the Trail Blazers' recent point-to-point victory against the Nuggets hurts the latter because it interrupts a streak of consecutive successes that was starting to be significant and that seemed likely to continue after the miraculous recovery that saw Denver go from -19 at the end of the third quarter to a provisional +2 at the end of the match. The possibility of redemption for the Nuggets, however, is there and it is that of a game with a totally favorable forecast for them: the one against the New Orleans Pelicans, “bottom of the table” in the entire NBA.
New Orleans brings with it old (Williamson and Ingram) and newer (Matkovic and Alvarado) unavailability which have been destructive during this first part of the season. There are many defeats and many of them were, regardless of the score, as clear as the last ones against the Rockets and Knicks.
A Denver that still seems calibrated and that had, even in the last KO, an excellent performance from the Jokic – Murray duo, therefore has the possibility to resume the ascent but, certainly, will have in mind the only and last precedent of the season against the Pelicans which saw Ingram and his teammates win in what is one of only five victories for New Orleans so far this season.
