[ Empoli ] Christmas concert with the Santa Cecilia Choir and the Ferruccio Busoni Orchestra of Empoli | Free Time Tuscany

The last appointment scheduled for the Ferruccio Busoni Musical Studies Centerin the memorable year of the centenary of the death of the composer from Empoliwill be the Christmas Concert on Sunday 22 December 2024, at 4 pm, in the Collegiate Church of Sant'Andrea.

Traditional Music will echo through the naves of the Empoli cathedral, performed by the Ferruccio Busoni Orchestra of Empoli, conducted by Andrea Mura, and by the Pia Società Corale Santa Cecilia, directed by Simone Faraoni.

The rich program of Christmas carols includes, among others, Laudate Dominum by Antonio Vivaldi, Jesus bleibet meine Freude by Johann Sebastian Bach, Gloria by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Now faithful, You descend from the stars.

This is also the last opportunity of the year to listen to the Ferruccio Busoni Orchestra of Empoli in concert, born from the synergy between the Busoni Center and the Il Contrappunto association on the occasion of the Busoni centenary. The orchestra, in addition to accompanying the choristers, will propose two symphonic moments with the performance of the Overture from La fina giardiniera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Symphony n. 1 in D major by Franz Joseph Haydn.

The concert is free entry without seat reservations.
