After starting at the Cleantech incubator in Aix, the Biomitech company is now supported by Zebox, the international accelerator of CMA CGM (owner of Provence). It uses the natural power of microalgae, microscopic organisms which, just like trees, absorb CO2 and transform it into oxygen as part of their growth process (photosynthesis).
This innovative approach forms the basis of its diverse air purification systems, designed for urban, indoor and industrial applications. These solutions target various pollutants including carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and fine particles, transforming them into clean air and valuable biomass. Five times more efficient than traditional species, these CO2-absorbing microalgae are placed in specialized columns where they effectively filter the air. This innovative process decarbonizes ambient air, thereby helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
Industrial air treatment
The company is now ready to accelerate the deployment of its technology for industrial air treatment, with different equipment, such as BioUrban designed for urban environments. An innovative tower 4 meters high and 2 meters in diameter can absorb up to 80% of CO2 from the surrounding air, equivalent to the capacity of 300 to 3,000 trees.
Biomitech has just joined forces with Cocktail Vision to launch Bioads. This urban air purification solution combines Biomitech's expertise in air pollution control with Cocktail Vision's digital display technology to create sustainable and interactive urban furniture. For Franck Schenaerts, CEO of Biomitech France, “CES will offer great visibility and the partnership with Cocktail Vision, a real business opportunity.“
