Triumph at home for Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, That wins the Le Grand Bornand sprintthird stage of the 2024/2025 biathlon World Cup. In a beautiful head-to-head with Franziska Preussso far the absolute protagonist of this start to the season, the transalpine athlete manages to prevail by almost a second and a half over her rival, making the public present at the finish line go into raptures. First success and first podium of the season for the 28 year old from Albertville, who makes a mistake in the standing range but is very fast on skis like Anamarija Lampič, who even manages to climb to the third step of the podium despite the double mistake in the second shooting session. Two surprises close out the top-5, with the Ukrainian Dzhima in fourth place followed by the German Grotian. Voigt was sixth, then Julia Simon, Zuk and the Swede Magnusson in tenth place. Another colorless performance from Elvira Oeberg, very foul on the shot with four errors in total which did not even allow her to find a place in the top-30 today.

THE AZZURRE’S RACE

For the ninth place we need to go into more detail, why it went to a wonderful Hannah Auchentaller. The 23-year-old Italian, world champion gold in the Oberhof 2023 relay, continues her excellent start to the season and closes another race without errors, reaching the finish line 44″ behind today’s winner. Samuela Comola’s performance was also decidedly positivealso perfect at shooting and able to place in the top-20 in 17th place. For Dorothea Wierer the difficulties continue in the standing ranges: today two more errors that cost her dearly, leading her to obtain no better than 20th position. But in general it was a satisfactory race for the blue team, given that it is worth mentioning 26th position for a splendid Martina Trabucchi, who was only in her second World Cup race. Further back, however, Michela Carrara, protagonist of five shooting errors.
