At the Stade Louis II, it was PSG who carved out the first big opportunity of the match: it was only in the 4th minute when Hakimi tried to surprise Kohn with a shot that hit the post. Two minutes later it was the Swiss goalkeeper who rejected Barcola’s attempt, while on the opposite side it was Ben Seghir who challenged Donnarumma. However, the Italy goalkeeper’s match ends already in the 22nd minute: Donnarumma is in fact knocked out by Singo with an involuntary, but frightening, blow to the face and Luis Enrique replaces him in favor of Safonov. The former Milan player leaves the pitch with obvious cuts on his eye and right cheek, caused by his opponent’s studs, while the Monegasque full-back only receives a yellow card. PSG responded to the loss by attacking and took the lead in the 24th minute, thanks to Doué’s goal: an intelligent play by Hakimi was decisive, as he did well to carve out space for the assist with a lightning-fast swerve into the penalty area. The former Inter player is among the most inspired and forces Kohn into another fundamental save at the end of the first half. Monaco then went into half-time trailing by a goal, but then managed to completely reverse the result in the first quarter of an hour of the second half. In the 53rd minute Ben Seghir equalized from a penalty, caused by a handball in the area by Marquinhos, while Embolo beat Safonov with the goal that made it 2-1 for Monegasque in the 60th minute. However, the home team’s advantage lasted only four minutes: Dembélé in fact evened the score at 2-2 with a tap-in in the 64th minute. However, the twists and turns are not over yet: as soon as he entered the pitch, Gonçalo Ramos found the winning shot to make it 3-2 in the 83rd minute. In injury time, there was also room for another post hit by Lee Kang-in, for Adi Hütter’s expulsion and for Dembélé’s final 4-2. PSG thus wins its second consecutive match in Ligue 1 and rises to 40 points, confirming itself as the leaders with a 10-point advantage over Monaco and : De Zerbi’s team, however, now has one game less than its direct rivals .
